THE BRIEF
Create a motion graphic for Jacksonville State University's volleyball teams to display player information on the jumbotron during game time.
RESEARCH
After watching and researching professional football team and other sport motion graphics, I was able to take note of the styles. Many of which incorporated bright colors, fast, layered elements, and used enlarged pieces of type to create abstract forms which accented player photographs.
GOALS
Create a high energy motion graphic with depth and versatility in order to make each one personable for the player at hand. Emphasize and mimic the movement seen and used within volleyball. Make the graphic type centric.
THE SOLUTION
Drawing from 2D stop motion animation and high frame rate geometric motion graphics, I was able to piece together a mix of stylized, smooth motion mimicking the action of the volleyball when introducing the player's name. Bold, quick shapes and various lines were added to boost the energy.
